'gosh lipstick swatches'

At a recent GOSH event I loaded up my bag with a few of their Velvet Touch Lipsticks. I thought I'd do a huge swatch-a-thon of them on my lips for you guys! The velvet Touch Lipsticks are quite nice, they don't have any noticable scent and aren't drying or cakey on the lips. I find the formula slightly varies from shade to shade though, but they are generally quite creamy and opaque. At £6.49 they are a good price for the quality and shade range.

Burgundy was obviously the darkest lip colour I picked up, Im not quite sure why I got it as I don't personally like dark lip colours and all the other shades I picked were orange toned so it was an odd one. GOSH Burgundy is a darkened berry shade which would look perfect in the winter time. It's wonderfully pigmented and is opaque in one swipe. It's not too heavy on the lips either which I quite liked.

I mainly choose oranges for some reason as I really like an orangey-coral lip. I don't think I own enough true orange lipsticks either as I tend to sit on the peachy pink end of the spectrum. Flirty Orange is a bright orange red which looks absolutely stunning. I think it would look lovely on a night out to give a pop of colour to the lips.  Sundown is a very sherry type of formula but it darkens my natural lip colour a bit to give it a soft orangey tint which looks really brightening. At first I felt it looked a little brown bit it wasn't too bad in the end after layering up a little. Mandarina is a very pale peachy nude (my favourite, of course) which is opaque in a few swipes and is very very pretty. It reminds me of a creamsicle! It's definitely my favourite of the bunch! Sunrise is similar to Sundown in formula as it's quite sheer initially but does build up to a creamy orange shade.

When I started blogging GOSH Darling was the "in" Lipstick, literally everyone was talking about it and I swear if you didn't have it you just weren't a real beauty blogger. I never had it but I thought I'd pick it up when I got these ones. Darling is a creamy pale nude with a pink undertone, Not quite right for my skin tone but it is a nice wearable nude and would suit less warm skin tones than mine. I probably could get away with it but there's just something a little too coprse like for my personal tastes!

As soon as I saw this eye palette I did a bit of a gasp. Beau-ti-ful. Just beautiful. The Clarins summer collection is inspired by South America and the Aztec's. The Eye Palette is a quartet of four shimmer shades including a copper, a pale gold, a rose gold and a deep plum and a dark plummy black eyeliner. Presented in the classic Clarins packaging and the shadows embossed with the theme of the Splendours collection.  All the shades are butter soft and pigmented, they apply well without a primer and really last all day. The shades can be mixed and matched to create a simple everyday look or a more smokey evening look. In the photos I've used the copper shade on the lid then darkened up the outer corner and lined the lower lash line with the plum. I really like the warmth and depth it gives to the eyes and how pretty it looks applied. I've worn the shades in a few different ways too including the pale gold on the lid and the copper in the crease, the plum on it's own with the eyeliner shade to darken and smoke it out a bit.

Overall I really like this palette and I wouldn't highly recommend it. The warm tones shades will really compliment tanned skin and add warmth and depth to the eyes. I think it's really versatile and very easy to wear. I can see the tones suiting a variety of skin tones and tastes. At £31 it's not the cheapest of neutral summer palettes out their but I really cant fault the quality or the design. So far this is my favourite summer limited edition eye palette!

concealer power couple

Origins Plantscription Anti-Ageing Concealer: £16*

Recently I have acquired had the worlds most unattractive under eye circles. The fact I've had really bad insomnia paired with night terrors and anxiety attacks, I just don't really ever get enough sleep. I have recently found what I've been referring to as my "Concealer Power Couple". A concealer twosome that hide those under eye bags and even out my under eye area making me look more awake and refreshed.

First up I've been loving the Origins Plantscription Anti-Ageing Concealer. Super creamy, with medium coverage and looks very brightening under the eyes. It reminds me slightly of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, but unlike it's cheaper counterpart it doesn't go dry or cakey after a few hours. It lasts about 8 hours on my under eye area which for someone with oilier skin I felt was pretty dark good. While I cant personally comment on its anti ageing claims quite yet it doesn't settle into fine lines or creases. This concealer is also suitable for blemishes or redness as I occasionally pop a bit on a spot or a blemish. I use the shade light medium which is pretty good, it's also quite pinky toned which is perfect to neutralise darkness.

By Terry Touche Veloutee is the second part of my concealer combo. While it isn't completely full coverage (it is very high coverage for such a light feeling concealer) it really does highlight and illuminate the under eye area. Similar to the infamous YSL Touche Éclat (I'm SEVERELY allergic to YSL Skin products!) But with much more coverage. It feels really light under the eyes even when layered with another concealer. It has a very natural but pigmented coverage. My eyes are left looking wide awake and darkness concealed. I wouldn't recommend using this on blemishes because of the highlighting element to it, but the coverage is adequate to be used on other areas. It's one of the most expensive concealers I've ever purchased but I don't regret it at all! I wear the shade 3 which is the "darkest" shade they come in. I felt the colour range  of the By Terry Touche Veloutte to be very poor as it only comes in three shades.

Typically I apply the Origins Plantscription Concealer under my eyes using the doe foot applicator in a triangle shape after applying my foundation. I then pay gently into the skin with a finger to blend out the edges. I then pump my By Terry Touche Veloutee twice and then apply in the same triangle shape, I then pat on or blend in with a Real Techniques Eye Socket Brush. While two concealers might be excessive to some I really do have the worst under eye circles known to man right now. Used separately they do a good job of concealing and brightening, but when used together something magic happens. So much love for these two!

I've had my eye on one of the Stila Convertible Colours for a while and thought it was about time I got around to buying one. I bought Gerbera blind, by that I mean I didn't actually look at swatches before I bought it. Really unlike me but for some reason I did it anyway. Spur of the moment purchase. Convertible Color's have a real luxurious, creamy texture which is supe easy to blend. Gerbera is a very natural light neutral pinky peach shade which is right up my street. It melts perfectly into the cheeks to give a soft flush of colour without looking heavy or too much. I felt the product was a bit tacky at first and that it just wouldnt look very nice on my oily skin. However I found it didn't leave my skin looking blotchy, patchy or greasy at all which left me pleasantly suprised. I apply to the cheeks I pop a few dots with my fingers then blend out with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.  When applying to the lips I just dab it on with a finger, although I like the colour on my lips I just feel like it doesn't sit very nicely on the lips. Very pretty and very easy to apply.
